Dancer, instructor and choreographer extraordinaire, Jenny Broe, former Executive Director of Dancefx Charleston, is now the owner and Chief Mad Scientist of her new brand and studio “Dance Lab”. When she’s not in the lab concocting the next show-stopping performance for Charleston, she is booking gigs for her dancers with her talent agency “Broe Works”. Hailing from Rhythm Dance Center in Marietta, GA, Broe joined forces with Dancefx Athens in 2003. As a Dancefx Concert Dance Company Member, she had the honor of performing at Dance ATHENS Dance Festival in 2003-2008, Jazz Dance World Congress in 2005, Piccolo Spoleto Festival 2004-2007, International Dance Grand Prix Italia in Bologna, Italy during the summer of 2007, and the PULSE on Tour in Atlanta 2006-2007, in addition to working as the Project Coordinator for Dancefx, Inc. In 2008 she worked as a master contemporary instructor at Gotta Dance Atlanta and danced professionally before returning to Dancefx, Inc. to launch Dancefx Charleston and the Charleston Dance Project. Her choreographic works were featured at The Piccolo Spoleto Finale, The South Carolina Dance Festival, The BB&T Food and Wine Festival, JAIL BREAK and Charleston Fashion Week to name a few. Broe also served as master contemporary, jazz and hip-hop instructor at the South Carolina dance Festival, Charleston County School of The Arts, the Charleston Dance Festival and SCAHPERD. Broe’s passion for and dedication to teaching, cultivating, connecting and inspiring the dance community in the Southeast grows and evolves everyday.
